Click on RCC Footing Design.
Click on the Base Column Member for which you want to design footing.
Force and Moment Diagram panel becomes visible.
In the left hand side column are Axial force in local X-axis direction (this will be used in the design panel), Shear force in local Y-axis direction and Shear force in local Z-axis direction respectively.
In the right hand side column are Torsional moment about local X-axis direction, Bending Moment about local Y-axis direction (this will be used in the design panel) and Bending moment about local Z-axis direction (this will be used in the design panel) respectively.
Click Ok.
Footing Design panel becomes visible.
The application places maximum values of axial force and moments in front of P, My, and Mz respectively.
The application also places column section details of selected column if it is designed.
Select desired values of ‘B’ and ‘D’ i.e. width and depth of the footing at the top.
Select desired values of ‘W’ and ‘L’ i.e. width and length of the footing at the bottom.
Select desired values of ‘T’ and ‘t’ i.e. maximum and minimum height of the footing.
Select concrete grade ‘fck’ and steel grade ‘fy’.
Select base column details ‘b’,’d’,’Dia’ and ‘fy’.
Input safe bearing capacity of the soil ‘SBC’ in MPa unit. The default value is 0.6 Mpa for soft rock (murrum).
Select steel arrangement for the first trial.
Click Analysis.
When the capacity of the footing is satisfactory click Save.
Dowels may be needed if fck of column is higher than fck of footing.
The application will add the details of this footing in the schedule of footings which will be place at the bottom of the panel.
Click Exit when you are done.
